Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Healthcare Compliance Manager to oversee the organization’s compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Healthcare Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, and other healthcare-related regulations. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of healthcare compliance standards, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain healthcare compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, and update policies accordingly.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide training to staff on healthcare compliance, including HIPAA, patient privacy, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and other relevant laws.
  • Investigate compliance-related issues, complaints, or breaches, and work with legal and senior management to address and resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and coordinate any inspections or audits.
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and legal teams to ensure compliance efforts are aligned with operational goals.
  • Prepare reports on compliance performance, risks, and corrective actions for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Foster a culture of compliance by promoting ethical practices and educating staff on the importance of regulatory adherence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, or a related field. Master’s degree or JD preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Healthcare Compliance Manager, Compliance Officer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC, CHPC) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing compliance teams or projects.
  • Proficiency in compliance software and tools.
